Apple has released an update bringing the iPhone and the iPod touch' software to version 1.1.4.
The update does not appear to bring new features but addresses some bugs found on earlier versions.
Though the update removes jailbreaks and still unauthorized third party applications, Jailbreak programs such as ZiPhone still appear to work after installing this new version. Users who want to use unofficial third-party applications and hacks will just have to apply the jailbreak operation after the update has been installed.
In October last year, Apple announced plans to introduce a Software Development Kit (SDK) for the iPhone and the iPod touch.
While there are still no signs of this SDK, some users hope today's update secretly brings compatibility to those forthcoming official third-party applications.
