Apple has issued firmware updates for all of its Intel-based Mac linups, except the Mac mini.

The updates bring power management, stability and performance improvements and are recommended for all users.

- Xserve EFI Firmware Update 1.0 (1.5MB)
- MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.4 (2.8MB)
- MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.1 (1.7MB)
- Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.2 (2.8MB)
- iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.2 (3.9MB)

Apple also offers a Firmware Restoration CD in version 1.4 (30MB) in case something goes wrong during the installation of the firmware update.

The updates are available either through the Software Update utility or through Apple's support web site (see links above).
