Apple has sent invites to the press for a special event scheduled on September 18 in London. The invite reads "Mum is no longer the word" on the top then "Please join us for a press conference on September 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the Apple Store , Regent Street." No information is provided on the announcements that will be made during the event. Among expectations for the event are the announcement of the availability date of the iPhone in UK and maybe in other European countries and possibly new content on iTunes UK. The company will possibly also announce its plans for France, maybe confirming the report MacScoop had posted in August, which claimed the iPhone is coming in France with Orange and will also sell at Fnac stores. During last quarter's Financial Results, Apple's financial officer, Tim Cook, said the company will make statements regarding the iPhone availability in Europe during this quarter.
