Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), has acquired strategic stake in Mac software maker Intego, tipster informed MacScoop. No public announcement has been made by Intego or BVP yet but we can notice BVP has quietly added Intego on the list of companies it has invested in, available on it's web site. BVP is a capital investment group specialized in IT, based in New York. It owns several software, Internet services and retail companies. Among them, two other data security companies, Determina and eEye Digital Security as well as virtualization software maker SWSoft, the makers of Parallels. Intego is present on the Macintosh platform for 10 years and has been offering several data security tools and other utilities exclusively for the Mac. VirusBarrier is the most known of them and has been subject of several bundles with Apple products for education. Though its headquarters are in Paris, France, Intego has offices in other European countries, the U.S.A and Asia. More information on the purchase may be made available through official press releases. This posting may be updated to reflect any changes or further information. Bookmark/Search this post with:
