Here's a brief summary of the latest iPhone rumours: Release, features Apple has yet to provide the exact release date of the iPhone while an Associated Press report claims it's for June the 20th. The phone could come with a few more widgets by Google, according to the Seatle Times. No word on what these widgets will actually do though. Hints from Asia The Commercial Times (via Forbes) and Digitimes add that Apple has contracted Quanta as second iPhone supplier. Quanta will produce 5 million iPhones starting in September. The device will be slightly different in terms of design and will target another market than the U.S., probably Europe. Foxconn is the main supplier of the initial iPhone shipments for the U.S. market. Competition prepares to counter-attack Meanwhile, competitors are readying to counter-attack against AT&T and Apple. Cingular will rely on the Prada's success. The Prada is basically an LG phone that has very similar features to the iPhone and a classy look. Microsoft is also working on new devices that will arrive by September, the company finally sold its first million of Zune media players, Apple sold about 30 million iPods since the Zune was released and has sold over 100 million iPods since 2001. We can estimate Microsoft needs about one century at the current rate so as to catch-up with Apple's sales :). Palm is also working on a new device that should be unveiled very soon. It has invited the press to a special event scheduled at the D: All Things Digital conference. Bookmark/Search this post with:
