The next iteration of iMacs, Apple's all-in-one mid-range desktops, could come in only two form factors - leaving the 17 inch model in the dust - report claims.

Apple's current iMac line-up is composed of two 17 inch models, one 20 inch and one 24 inch model ranging from $999 to $1999.

The main reason of the removal of the 17 inch model from the line-up could be related to a willing to improve logistics regarding the company's flat panel display purchases.

The report also says that Apple will drop the 23 inch Cinema Display model in favor of a 24 inch form factor, something that has also been whispered by our own sources and was reported for the first time by MacScoop a few months ago.

By the way, the report opens strong possibility that Apple reviews the pricing of its 20 inch and 24 inch iMac models so as to keep the line-up affordable enough for the mid-end consumer.

These line-up updates are expected to arrive this coming June, according to the report published by ThinkSecret.

An earlier MacScoop report said Apple would update most of its line-ups this quarter. For the moment, the Mac Pro saw only an additional 8-core option while the MacBook has been slightly speed-bumped. If we rely on this report, we can now expect Apple to update its Mac mini, iMac and MacBook Pro line-ups by the end of this quarter.
