In a report published earlier today, the Taiwan-based online publication Digitimes is re-iterating its earlier reports claiming that Apple is planing to introduce a 15.4 inch MacBook.

This new model is now said to be scheduled for Q2 2007 (calendar) and should be priced between the MacBook and the MacBook Pro line-up, offering greater competitiveness to Apple's laptop line-ups for the second half of this year.

The publication recently published another very corraborated report claiming Apple will use LED backlight technology in the next-generation of MacBook Pros.

However, Digitimes has usually been inaccurate in its past reports.

As usual, this Digitimes report sounds like pure speculation of something that is obvious.

Apple needs to address the $1500-$1700 15 inch market.
