Apple has posted four new downloads to its support section or through the Software update utility. The first is an utility that allows iPod shuffle users to reset the device if it stops working. The utility can format the iPod shuffle and load a factory firmware on it. The update comes in Mac and Windows installation packages. The MacBook SMC firmware update fixes a very annoying issue some MacBook users have encountered. Sometimes a MacBook can shutdown with no apparent reason. This firmware update improves the way power and fan speed is managed. The company recommends this update to all MacBook users, including those who have sent their MacBook for service under the waranty. In the Pro software area, DVD Studio Pro has been updated to version 4.1.1, it addresses an issue with disc layout for DDP and CMF images on Intel-based Macintosh computers. Apple has also posted an update to its mid-range video editing solution Final Cut Express, version 3.5.1, which addresses compatibility on specific hardware. Bookmark/Search this post with:
