Apple Computer announced today that a small part (less than 1%) of its shipped video-enabled iPods contain a virus

The iPod itself is not affected by the namely RavMonE.exe virus but can infect Microsoft Windows compatible computers according to Apple.

"We are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it," said Apple in a statement.

Apple is not the first company to see its music players production affected by a virus. Last week, McDonalds announced that 10 000 MP3 players given away to customers contained a trojan-horse virus.

No information was provided regarding the responsible of this fiasco, neither by McDonalds or by Apple.
