Here's a brief catch-up with some news we forgot to cover: As pointed out by MacNN in the latest Lion's Gate Entertainment Financial conference, an executive revealed to the press that Apple is planning to launch a movie store by the end of the year and that the movie studio has already closed a deal with Apple so as to sell its movies through Apple's movie store. "In terms of iTunes movie downloads, I think most likely some time before the end of the year. We know when they are planning on launching, but since they have not announced it publicly, I do not think it is our place to say anything more about that. Calendar year." Apple has been rumoured for a while to be working on a movie store and most analysts and rumour sites expect the company to go for the movie-rentals model although the company has always been in favor of the owned downloads model as it is the case for iTunes.
