After closing of its worldwide online stores for about an hour, Apple has just released the long-awaited iBook's successor, the MacBook.

The MacBook comes in a single form factor but is available in three configurations and two colors.

MacBook 13" White 1.83Ghz:
- 13.3-inch widescreen display
- 1280 x 800 resolution
- 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo1
- 512MB memory (2x256MB SODIMMs)
- 60GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive2
- Combo drive (DVD-ROM, CD-RW)
- $1099

MacBook 13" White 2.0Ghz:
- 13.3-inch widescreen display
- 1280 x 800 resolution
- 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo1
- 512MB memory (2x256MB SODIMMs)
- 60GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive2
- SuperDrive (DVD±RW, CD-RW)
- $1299

MacBook 13" Black 2.0Ghz:
- 13.3-inch widescreen display
- 1280 x 800 resolution
- 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo1
- 512MB memory (2x256MB SODIMMs)
- 80GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive2
- SuperDrive (DVD±RW, CD-RW)
- $1499

All of the MacBooks come with Core Duo processors, a "glossy widescreen display", built-in iSight camera, Front Row and Apple Remote, MagSafe. They also include Mac OS X Tiger and iLife '06 multimedia software suite.

The only bad news is that this new MacBook comes with integrated GMA 950 graphic chip with 64MB of shared memory.
