Here's a brief mix of Apple fresh news: Apple wins 36 000 laptops contract for Maine schools: Apple has been awarded a contract to supply 36 000 laptops to Maine schools for the next four years. More details are provided on Maine state's web site. Quanta to manufacture "video iPod devices": Forbes reports that Quanta, which is already making some laptops and iPods for Apple, has been qualified to manufacture "video iPod devices". Microsoft delays Vista to 2007: Microsoft announced that it will be delaying the release of Windows Vista to January 2007 (from late 2006) while a special edition for businesses will be released in November 2006. The release of Microsoft's next generation operating system has been delayed several times since its official announcement. The initial release timeframe was for early to mid-2006.
