The Business Journal reports that Apple has aquired a data center located in Newak for about $50 million.

The data center was initialy conceived for MCI WorldCom but has never been used.

This new aquisition could have to do with rumours that Apple will launch a video-on-demand service soon. It could also simply be a way for Apple to reduce bandwidth costs for its iTunes Music Store.
