According to this report, today Apple has named Tim Cook its Chief Operating Officer. Tim Cook has been executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Operations since 2002.

"It's high time we officially recognized it with this promotion," said Apple's CEO Steve Jobs.

Jon Rubinstein who heads the iPod Division announced that he will retire on March 31 2006. He will be succeded by Tony Fadell.
