Four days only after the launch of its iTunes Music Store in Japan, Apple announced that it had sold over 1 million songs, becoming the first online music store in Japan in record time.

"iTunes has sold twice as many songs in just four days as all the other online music services in Japan sell in one month." said Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs. The company faces hard competition, especially from Sony, in Japan. The launch of iTunes Music Store in Japan represents a big threat for its competitors.
