Here is some information on future third-party Mac OS X software releases:

MacosXrumors has prematurely received some information about Aquafadas' iDive which is a video catalog and exploration tool ($69.95 shareware). According to the mail we received, an update to version 1.4 is coming early next month, bringing dozens of new features. Among new features: an improved user interface, importing from iMovie projects or CD/DVDs, speed improvements, better drag-and-drop support and improved clip editing.

The iPodLinux team has suceeded in enabling audio playback on the iPod 4G and iPod mini. At the moment, the feature is quite buggy on 4G and mini iPods so there is no installer yet and no release date was provided for it. This is big news though, as 4G and mini support represent millions of iPod users. The developers also hope to bring recording feature to the latest generation of iPods. The iPod can actually record through its headset jack connector but Apple has only activated this feature for third-party modules so far.

In other software related news, Skype Technologies' CEO & Co-founder recently commented on the future of its popular audio-conferencing tool, Skype. Niklas Zennström told that the company will now focus on the development in video-conferencing and promised that Skype will include video-conferencing capabilities. Let's hope that the Mac version won't come later.

More information related to unreleased software will be posted soon, don't hesitate to help us to gather information if you can.
