Yesterday, Toshiba announced it would boost production of flash memory chips because the current demand is too high. Toshiba is the supplier of 512Mb flash memory modules for the iPod shuffle.

Masashi Muromachi, the CEO of Toshiba said "Demand created by this new machine is so vast that our current capacity can in no way meet their needs," when asked to comment on the iPod shuffle launch impact.
