Apple has seeded a new build of Tiger this week to a limited number of developers. This build is numbered 8A351 and mainly brings improvements to the Spotlight feature. Developers have pointed out that Spotlight is really unstable though, and the focus of this build is probably on fixing that problem. Spotlight has now its own preferences pane that allows you to control how you want the search results to be displayed and to set the range of Spotlight's search. The Spotlight menu has also a new look. Known issues concern : Finder SMB copies, boot, wake from sleep, applications crash, rich text printing, Mail, volume renaming, Microsoft applications, AOL installer, Adobe installers, Macromdia installers, HelpViewer, Character palette, authendicated copies, user logs path, package creation with PackageMaker. This build also brings a new version of iCal, numbered 2.0, but no new features have been found on it. More details are, of course welcome, we especially want to know if this build includes the improvements that we could note during Steve Jobs' MacWorld keynote. Bookmark/Search this post with:
