ThinkSecret has just published an interesting article claiming that Apple is planing to use a new low-power and single-core G5 processor, called PowerPC 970GX, for a future generation of Powerbooks that should come late next year.

The article also confirms that if Apple is not able to use a G5 processor for the next PowerBook speed bump, it may use Freescale's PowerPC 7448 instead. The possible use of the PowerPC 7448 processor was initialy revealed by macosXrumors sources and reported on this posting.
