At this stage, little is known about iLife '05, but there is one very interesting feature of the next major release of iTunes that was confirmed by several sources.

The next version of iTunes will certainly add playlists hierarchy, this means you'll be able to create "playlists folders" in which you'll be able to add several lists. Sources even hinted that by clicking on the playlist folder, iTunes will display the content of all its sub-lists.

Another source added that Apple should include Spotlight integration to iTunes. The source explained that iTunes could create folder tracking lists or smart lists that will search into the hard-disk and play files that are not even added to the music library. Spotlight integration has not been confirmed by other sources though.

For the moment, we don't know if Apple is planing to add thes features to the whole iLife suite but we can guess at least iPhoto could get the same feature additions.

iLife '05 will certainly be released in January 2005 and although it may include features working only with Tiger, Apple should keep future releases of iLife's applications compatibile with the current version of Mac OS X.

If you know more, your input is welcome here.
